Project Summary

The TA will assess the possibility of replicating in Cambodia the Thailand Business Initiative for Rural Development (T-BIRD) approach, a successful rural development model driven by the socially responsible private sector.

The TA will undertake the following:

  1. identification of the current involvement of business organizations in poverty reduction
  2. assessing current and potential modalities of private-public partnership in rural development
  3. explore sustainable options in facilitating business organizations to contribute to poverty reduction
  4. identification of potential participating villages
  5. assessing the capacity of key stakeholders, including participating villages
  6. catalyzing partnership and building capacity among interested parties
  7. designing a strategy and program to replicate T-BIRD approach in Cambodia
