North American Representative Office

The North American Representative Office (NARO) was established in 1995 in Washington, DC, to enhance ADB's presence in Canada and the United States .
The office acts as a liaison between ADB's Manila Headquarters and American policymakers and major stakeholders. It serves to strengthen collaboration with other multilateral institutions based in North America, and conducts public and media outreach.

ADB Pledges Up to $1.3 Billion for Afghanistan
ADB pledged up to $1.3 billion in new assistance for Afghanistan at a donor conference in Paris last week. Speaking in Paris, ADB Vice President Liqun Jin said Afghanistan has made progress over the past seven years, but that progress toward several aspects of the Government's reform agenda "are still pending."
