The goal of the assistance is to halt and begin to reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Pacific by 2015. The purpose is to have an effective response to HIV/AIDS in place in Pacific Developing Member Countries in regard to government and community capacity to address HIV/AIDS, through the implementation of the ADB Pacific region roadmap on HIV/AIDS. The Public Communications Policy (PCP) recognizes that transparency and accountability are essential to development effectiveness. It establishes the disclosure requirements for documents and information ADB produces or requires to be produced.
The Accountability Mechanism provides a forum where people adversely affected by ADB-assisted projects can voice and seek solutions to their problems and report alleged noncompliance of ADB's operational policies and procedures.
