The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Cooperation Program was initiated in 1992 with ADB support. By end-2007, it had mobilized $9.9 billion in investment projects and $166 million in technical assistance, of which ADB's support amounted to $3.4 billion for investments and $76 million for TA. The Public Communications Policy (PCP) recognizes that transparency and accountability are essential to development effectiveness. It establishes the disclosure requirements for documents and information ADB produces or requires to be produced.
The Accountability Mechanism provides a forum where people adversely affected by ADB-assisted projects can voice and seek solutions to their problems and report alleged noncompliance of ADB's operational policies and procedures.
