Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (IMAR) is the third largest administrative region of the PRC in terms of land area and is well endowed with natural resources. As a result of mining, IMAR's economy has been growing rapidly, with gross domestic product increasing at 18% per annum from 2003 to 2011.
